FLG tracks email opens, clicks, replies, unsubscribes, spam reports and failures. Matching event hooks let you add actions triggered by these events, so you can automate follow-up based on how recipients interact with your emails.
Available Email Events
- Email Opened - triggers when the email is first opened. Requires email tracking enabled ('Settings > Configuration > Email'). Relies on pixel tracking, so it only fires if the recipient loads images - treat it as a relative measure, not an exact count.
- Email Clicked - triggers when a link in the email is clicked. Requires email tracking enabled ('Settings > Configuration > Email').
- Email Replied - triggers when the email is replied to.
- Email Unsubscribed - triggers when the recipient unsubscribes.
- Email Spam Reported - triggers when the recipient marks the email as spam.
- Email Failed - triggers on a hard bounce only. Soft bounces don't trigger this event.
Filtering Conditions
- Email Subject - filter by the sent email's subject. Available for all email events.
- Email Link ID - filter by a link's ID attribute. 'Email Clicked' event only.
- Email Link URL - filter by a link's URL. 'Email Clicked' event only.
Adding Actions to Email Events
- Go to 'Settings > Lead Groups > Lead Types'.
- Edit the relevant lead type.
- Scroll to the 'Actions' section and add your action.
- Click the grey 'Conditions' label next to the action to add conditions.
Ideas for Using Email Events
- Pre-qualify leads - warm leads up by email and only make personal contact once they engage. Add 'Assign to User' and 'Task User' actions to 'Email Clicked' and 'Email Replied' (use conditions to avoid re-assigning leads already handled).
- Trigger follow-up sequences - add a 'Start Workflow' action to 'Email Clicked', filtered by Email Link ID so only a specific link starts the workflow. The workflow can then send a further sequence of emails.
- Score lead quality - create 'Cold Lead', 'Warm Lead' and 'Hot Lead' statuses. Add 'Change Status' actions to 'Email Clicked' and 'Email Replied', using conditions based on current status (e.g. Warm → Hot on a second click) or on specific links (e.g. clicking pricing info makes it a Hot Lead immediately).
