What Are Conditional Filters?
- Conditional filters can be added to any Lead Type Action - e.g. only run "this action" if it matches a condition.
- Conditions can check things like a specific status, a specific source, or the answer to an additional data field, plus many more options.
Adding a Filter
- Example: sending an email template to the customer at the status Welcome Pack Sent.
- Click the No Condition tab on the Lead Type Action, then click + Add New Condition.
- Choose what to filter on - e.g. standard customer details or any additional fields added to the Lead Group. In this example, choose Status.
- Choose a match parameter, such as:
- is the value
- is not the value
- For numbers: less than or greater than
- Select is the value to require an exact match, then enter the status Welcome Pack Sent in the last box.
- Click Update to save the condition.
- Note: the value must match exactly - copy and paste the status to avoid spelling or case errors.
Using "Or" and "And"
- Or - triggers the action at several different points, e.g. Status1, Status2 or Status3 could each trigger the email.
- And - triggers the action only when both conditions are matched, e.g. status is Welcome Pack Sent and the lead came from a specific source.
- Important: "Or" is not exclusive - if any of the "Or" conditions are satisfied, the action runs.
- All conditions are grouped into one set. For example: Source is the value X AND Status is not the value Y OR Status is not the value Z - the action runs if Source is X and Status is Z, since this satisfies the AND condition (Source is X) plus one of the OR conditions (Status is not Y).
- Important: you won't need "Or" if all your conditions use "is not the value" - use "And" instead. For example: Status is not the value Contacted AND Status is not the value Callback - grouped as one set, ensuring the status is neither Contacted nor Callback.
- Conditional filters can be applied to any action, or any part of a workflow.
