Setting Up Lead Types

Modified on Fri, 19 Jun at 3:36 PM

What are Lead Types?

  • A Lead Type is a sub-category/product of the Lead Group.
  • The Lead Group is the main category/product and sets what information can be captured - so all Lead Types should use the same fields.
  • Example 1: Insurance (Lead Group) > Motor, Motorbike (Lead Types)
  • Example 2: Holidays (Lead Group) > Sun Destinations, City Destinations (Lead Types)

Adding a Lead Type

  • Go to: Settings > Lead Groups > Add New Lead Type
  • Give the lead type a name and a description.
  • Set referral options by clicking Show Partner Referral Settings.

Partner Referral

  • Lead types are not referable by default — you must enable the referral option.
  • Referral Method - four delivery options:
    • Deliver Immediately - distributes leads as they are received.
    • Deliver Manually - refer the lead to a specific partner.
    • Set Appointments - enter an appointment date and time when pressing Refer.
    • Telephone Transfer - used for Hot Key Transfers.
  • Note: All delivery options are subject to Partner Referral & Distribution Rules.

Lead Type Default Cost

  • Sets the amount a partner is charged for the lead.
  • Applies to partners who add the Lead Type via Self Service from their account.
  • Cost per partner can be set, and the default cost can be prevented for individual partners in the Partner Referral Settings.

National Cost Variation

  • Sets a lead value used when referring to a partner with National Targeting for that lead type.

Referral Scope

  • Sets how many times a lead can be referred.
  • Always allow referral to multiple partners ticked - a sub lead is created for every referral.
  • Unticked - a sub lead is created only for each referral after the first.
  • Also applies to Set Appointments: refer to multiple partners, each with its own appointment date and time.

Restrict Location Targeting

  • Restricts the Location Targeting a partner can select when adding the lead via Self Service.
  • Local - partner can only select local areas.
  • National — partner can select all Post Codes.

Allow Partner Self-Service

  • Lets a partner add the lead type to their Referral Setup via their portal.

Require FCA Authorisation

  • Prevents partners receiving this lead type unless they have an FCA Authorisation number in their Partner Details.

Conditional Filtering

  • Conditional Filters restrict which leads are placed within the lead type.

Lead Actions

  • Add Lead Actions to perform simple single actions based on different events.
  • Examples: an auto responder, or starting a workflow.
