Use the Referral menu to manage what happens to a referred lead:

  • Unrefer - Revoke a previously referred lead from the buyer without invalidating it or reversing transactions.
  • Redeliver - Resend the lead to a partner without recharging them.
  • Reverse - Reverse all transactions (both introducer and buyer).
  • Reverse Introducer - Only reverses transactions to your introducer.
  • Reverse Referral - Only reverses transactions to your referral partner.
  • Return - Start, decision, or clear a return/refund.

Intending to Refer a Lead Elsewhere?

If you've reversed or un-referred a lead and plan to post it to another partner:

  • Click Reverse.
  • Reset Billing - click Edit Lead, then under Cost Value and Billing select Reset Billing Point.
  • Change the status back to New - this ensures the status updates and charges are added when the referral happens.
  • Click to refer.

Referring a Lead to a Partner

Follow these steps to set up lead referrals to partners.

Step 1: Check Preferences

Go to Settings > Configuration > Preferences and review the Partner Preferences section:

  • Allow partners to provide an FCA authorisation no. - Enable if you're selling financial leads and want partners to supply their FCA number.
  • Allow pause/resume lead delivery - Adds an online/offline button in the partner portal. No leads are delivered while the partner is offline.
  • Allow pause/resume lead delivery by text message - Partners can text LEADS ON or LEADS OFF to a short number to activate or pause delivery.
  • New Buyer Sign Up Interface - Enable this to allow partners to sign up directly.
  • Allow buyers to change some buying settings - Deselect if you don't want partners changing the lead types and locations they receive.
  • Allow introducers access to the Capture Leads tool - Lets introducers submit leads via Iframe, Webform, or API. Note: introducers can choose which lead group to submit to - control this via Settings > Lead Groups > Edit > Allow introducers to refer to this group through portal.
  • Allow introducers to create leads in any lead group - Shows all lead groups to the introducer when submitting.

Note on FCA numbers: To require an FCA number before leads are delivered, go to Settings > Lead Groups > Lead Types > Edit, click Show Partner Referral Settings, and tick Require FCA Authorisation. Partners add their FCA number via Reports & Settings > Account Details. You'll receive an email notification, and can manage the number under Partners > Details.

Step 2: Set Up Lead Types

Go to Settings > Lead Groups > Lead Types, edit the relevant lead type, and click Show Partner Referral Settings:

  • Deliver Immediately - Lead is referred automatically on receipt.
  • Deliver Manually - Lead is only referred manually, via a lead action, or workflow.
  • Set Appointments - Users call the lead, set an appointment, then refer it to the partner.
  • Telephone Transfer (Hotkey) - Lead is called first, then transferred live to the partner.
  • Lead Type Default Cost - The default charge to the partner for this lead type.
  • Referral Scope - Set how many partners can receive sub-leads (e.g. scope of 3 sends up to 3 appointments to 3 separate partners).
  • Allow Partner Self-Service - Deselect to prevent partners from adding this lead type themselves in their portal.

Repeat for all lead types.

Step 3: Add Partners

Go to Partners > New Partner or allow partners to sign up themselves (if the New Buyer Sign Up Interface is enabled - partners visit https://<yourhostname>.flg360.co.uk/NewBuyer.php).

  • Enter the partner's details - only Company Name is required. Account description and reference are optional and not visible to the partner.
  • Select Partner Type: leads referred to them, or leads introduced by them.
  • Set a credit limit - lead delivery pauses once the limit is reached. Add funds via Partners > Statement > Add Transaction. Partners can also add funds via PayPal.
  • Add a lead delivery email address under Lead Delivery Settings. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.
  • Tick Custom Email Delivery Template to send a custom notification email, otherwise the standard template is used. For HTML emails, set up a template in Settings > Templates.
  • Enable Internet Delivery to deliver leads via XML, Form Post, SOAP, or JSON - the partner should advise which method to use.
  • Set daily/monthly lead limits to cap how many leads you send. Enter 0 for no limit.
  • Set a delivery schedule - 24/7 or specific days and times.
  • Add a Transfer Telephone Number if using hotkey/telephone transfer - this number is shown on screen when a lead is referred.
  • Set a Low Funds Threshold - the partner is emailed (and optionally texted) when their balance reaches this amount.
  • In Partners > Referral Setup, select which lead types and locations to refer to the partner, the charge per lead type, and when to apply the charge.

Self-signed-up partners are set to Pending by default. Activate them via Partners > Details by changing their status to Active.

Troubleshooting: Why Can't I Refer Lead A to Partner B?

  • Run the Partner Eligibility Report in Reports - this shows whether a partner is eligible and which criteria they fail (e.g. no credit, daily limit reached).
  • Check that the partner has the correct lead type and locations selected in Partners > Referral Setup.
  • If you're still stuck, contact support.
