Adding a Lead Type
- Select which lead types will be delivered to the partner.
- After clicking to add a Lead Type and selecting one from the list, you will be taken to Location Targeting.
- Location Targeting lets you select which postcode areas your partner will accept leads for - click individual postcodes to drill down to specific postcode districts.
- If your partner accepts leads from any location, click Select All Areas.
- Important: Location Targeting must be completed before leads will be referred.
- Once a Lead Type is added, press Edit to change any of the values below.
Can't see a Lead Type? Lead types are not referable by default. To enable referral:
- Go to Settings > Lead Groups > Lead Types > Edit
- Enable the referral option and amend the Lead Type Partner Referral Settings.
Billing on Accepted, Qualified and Converted
- You can bill a partner when a lead is Accepted, Qualified, or Converted - set amounts for one or more of these.
- Accepted - upon referral, unless the partner is required to manually accept leads in Partner Settings.
- The lead is charged to the partner based on the Billing Point.
- A percentage of the Lead Cost value can be added to the amount charged - note this is the price you paid for the lead, not what your partner pays.
Lead Type Daily Limit
- Sets a limit for individual lead types per day.
- Does not override limits set in Partner Settings - should be set relative to those.
- Example: if a partner has a daily limit of 10 and you want an even split, set the Lead Type Daily Limit to 5 for each type (5 of Lead Type A + 5 of Lead Type B = 10 total).
Lead Type Monthly Limit
- Sets a limit for individual lead types per month.
- Does not override limits set in Partner Settings - should be set relative to those.
Selection Priority
- Selection Priority (SP) lets you prioritise lead types for selected partners.
- Partners with a higher SP receive leads before those with a lower priority.
- Leads are distributed according to the Partner Referral & Distribution Rules.
Other Settings
- Prevent reverting to default cost - ensures the partner is charged based on the lead cost set for that partner, not the system default.
- Prevent partner from managing this lead type - stops the partner from making changes to the Partner Referral Settings for that lead type.
Important: When a lead type allows partner self-service, preventing the system from reverting to the default cost will cause the partner to be charged zero for that Lead Type until the costing is updated in the Partner Referral Set-up.
