Journey Fields

The following field types can be used in Journeys. Some are not available as additional fields on lead groups.

Field TypeDescription
TextAlphanumeric input intended for brief entries such as a name.
Long TextAlphanumeric input intended for more detailed entries such as notes.
SignatureSignature input box - allows entry using a mouse or touch device.
TableSet columns and rows for data entry. Field types can be defined per row/column.
SelectionSingle-select from a list. Displays as a drop-down menu with user-defined values.
RadioSingle-select from a list. Displays as a vertical menu with user-defined values.
ChecklistMulti-select from a list. Displays as a vertical menu with user-defined values.
CheckboxToggle selector - off by default. Can be clicked to mark as complete.
CurrencyDecimal value (up to 2 decimal places). Displays with the GBP symbol (£).
DecimalAccepts whole or fractional numbers to 2 decimal places, e.g. 1.52.103.9.
IntegerAccepts whole numbers only, e.g. 123.
CalculationCustomisable calculation using integer, decimal, and currency fields. The user cannot overwrite the result.
EmailAccepts alphanumeric characters. Expects a valid email format, e.g. name@domain.com.
PhoneAccepts numerical values. Optional toggle to require UK phone numbers only - when enabled, expects a valid UK format starting with 0.
PostcodeAccepts alphanumeric characters. Optional toggle to require UK postcodes only.
AddressAccepts alphanumeric characters. Displays separate inputs for line 1, line 2, line 3, town, and postcode. Optional toggle to require valid UK addresses only.
DateEnter dates in DD/MM/YYYY format. A calendar picker is shown to the user.
TimeEnter times in HH:MM format.
DatetimeCombination of date and time inputs. A calendar picker lets the user select a specific day and time.

Creating and Deleting a Journey Field

  • Open a new or existing Journey associated with a lead group.
  • In the Journey editor, click + New field under the Journey fields selector.
  • Select the field type you want to add - it will be added to the end of the Journey automatically.
  • To delete a field, hover over it and click the delete icon.
  • If the field was in use, an error message will confirm it has been removed.

Adding Helper Text to a Field

Helper text appears beneath a field when viewing the Journey.

  • Click the field, then select the pencil icon - or double-click the field.
  • Enter your text in the Field helper text box.
  • The text will display beneath the field in the Journey.

Making Fields Read-Only or Required

  • Required - the field must have a valid value before the Journey can be submitted. Marked with a red asterisk next to the field label.
  • Read only - the field is visible in the Journey but its value cannot be changed. Shown with a padlock symbol.

To set these options:

  • Click the field, then select the pencil icon - or double-click the field.
  • Check the Read only or Required checkbox as needed.
  • Only one option can be selected at a time - choosing one hides the other.
Note: If an additional field is set to required at the lead group level, it will always be required when included in a Journey.
