Show or hide fields based on earlier answers to personalise the journey and keep it concise - for example, showing second-applicant questions only when a second applicant exists, or asking follow-up medical questions only when relevant.
Key Concepts
- Child field - the field you want to show or hide; conditions are applied here
- Parent field - an earlier field in the journey whose value the child field checks
- OR conditions - field shows/hides if one or more conditions are met
- AND conditions - field shows/hides only if all conditions in a group are met; AND groups are linked by OR
- Conditions can span page breaks
Add a Condition
- Add a field to the journey in the normal way
- Hover over the field to reveal the field options
- Click the Conditions icon to open the Edit conditions menu
- Click Add condition
- Select Show this field or Hide this field
- Configure the condition:
- Field - select the parent field from the drop-down
- Comparison - select the comparison operator (only relevant operators for that field type are shown)
- Value - enter the value to check (format depends on field type)
- To add an AND condition in the same group, click + AND
- To add an OR condition, click + OR
- Click Save
- A conditions icon appears next to the field label when a condition is applied
Edit or Delete a Condition
- Hover over the field to reveal the field options
- Click the Conditions icon to open the Edit conditions menu
- To edit, update the Field, Comparison, or Value
- To delete, click Remove
- Click Save
Tips
- If a parent field is deleted, its child field's condition breaks - the journey editor shows a red conditions icon next to the affected child field(s). Until corrected, the child field will never appear.
- You cannot add a condition to the first field in a journey - there is no parent field above it to check.
