Adding Fields to a Journey

  • After creating a new Journey, or when editing an existing one, you can add fields using the editor.
  • Field types include metadata field, standard field, additional field, and new Journey field - these are listed on the left side of the page beneath the search box.
  • Expand a field type, then click the field you want to add to insert it at the bottom of the Journey. Once inserted, the field will appear greyed out in the selection menu.
  • To insert a field at a specific point, click and hold on the field, then drag and drop it into place in the Journey.
  • You can also reorder fields in the Journey using this same drag and drop method.

Editing Field Labels

  • When editing a Journey, field labels can be changed - this is what the user will see when using the Journey.
  • Place your mouse cursor over the field you'd like to edit, then click the pencil icon.
  • Enter the new label.

Removing a Field

  • When editing a Journey, you can remove a field using the editor.
  • Place your mouse cursor over the field you'd like to remove, then click the delete icon. This removes the field from the Journey.
  • If you want to completely delete the field, see the guide to delete a Journey field.

Creating Calculations Fields

  • Calculations can be used in Journeys, allowing values from integer, decimal and currency fields to be included as part of the calculation.
  • Example: a Journey used for an income and expenditure check, with separate tables for each. Information is captured for up to two applicants. Calculations are set up for Total Income, Total Expenditure, and Disposable Income.
  • Begin by adding a field to your Journey and selecting the calculation field type.
  • When creating or updating the calculation, you can choose from the list of usable fields. Click on a field name to insert it into the calculation.
  • The following operators can be included in calculations:
    • Add +
    • Subtract -
    • Multiply *
    • Divide /
    • Parenthesis ( )
  • Either type in the corresponding symbol, or use the buttons on the right side of the usable fields section.

Creating Table Fields

  • Tables can be added into Journeys to more easily record information using columns and rows.
  • A column arranges data vertically from top to bottom, while a row arranges data horizontally from left to right.
  • Begin by adding a Journey field using the Table type. At this stage, the name and field label can be set.
  • The rows (horizontal) can then be defined, followed by the columns (vertical).
  • You can then choose how the data is organised, by either row or column.
  • The data type for each row/column will then need to be specified.

Adding Helper Text to Fields

  • Helper text can be added to fields in Journeys. This shows beneath the field when viewing the Journey.
  • To do this, click on the field and then select the pencil icon.
  • Enter the text into the Field helper text box. This will then show beneath the field when viewing the Journey.

Static Elements in Journeys

  • Static elements can be added when editing or creating a Journey.
  • Heading - displays as large, bold text in the Journey.
  • Text - shows in the same font size as field labels by default, and can also include template variables.
  • For both headings and text, extra options let you change the font size, colour, style and indentation. You can also insert bulleted or numbered lists and add hyperlinks to text.
  • Image - allows you to insert your own images into the Journey, such as a logo. Drag & drop, or use the browse button, to select an image to upload. Image alignment can also be set.
  • Horizontal dividers - add a line that spans the width of the Journey page.
  • For information on Page breaks, please see this guide.
  • Here's an example showing the different static elements used together.

View Journey Properties

  • When creating or editing a Journey, the properties can be viewed.
  • Click on the three dots in the top right corner, then select Properties.
  • This will show the Journey name, ID, and template variables.
