Email a Journey PDF Link to Your Customer
- Share a PDF of a completed journey with a customer or prospect to instantly confirm information collected via that journey
- Email a journey PDF link by adding it to an email as a template variable
- When you send the email from FLG (manually, via a lead action, or within a workflow), FLG creates a unique link for that lead's latest submission on that journey
- The link always takes your customer to the same version of the journey
Add a Journey PDF Link to an Email Template
- Click Settings > Templates and open an existing email template, or create a new one via Add New Template and select the lead group to associate it with
- Click Insert template variable above the email template subject
- Expand the Journey links section and find the description starting with "PDF for..." - variables here are prefixed with JPDF, indicating a journey PDF link
- Place the cursor in the email subject or body where you want the link
- Click the journey name in the Journey links section to insert it
- The template variable will be inserted in { } tags
- When the email is sent, the variable is replaced with the clickable journey PDF link for that lead
Hide the Link Behind Shorter Text
- For a cleaner look, hide the long journey PDF link behind a short text link
- Type the text you want customers to click, e.g. "Click here to download your fact find" (with "here" as the link)
- Add the journey PDF link as a template variable into the email body, or into another application to copy later
- Select the text to turn into the link, e.g. "here"
- Carefully copy the journey PDF link template variable - copy only from the opening { to the closing }, e.g. {JPDF_MORTGAGE_FACT_FIND} - no spaces or extra characters
- Click the link button in the template editor toolbar (start of the third group of controls, second row)
- On the Link Info tab, select <other> from the Protocol dropdown - leave Link Type set to URL
- Paste the journey URL template variable exactly into the URL box
- Click OK on the Link popup
- The selected text is now a link
Tip: To thank your customer for completing a journey and send them a copy of their information, add a new lead action to Contact Customer on the event Journey Completed - Customer, with a condition on the journey name to limit it to a specific journey.
Include the journey PDF link in the email template as described above.
