Create a calculation field

Calculations can be used in Journeys. This allows for values from integer, decimal and currency fields to be included as part of the calculation.

For this example a Journey is being used for an income and expenditure check with separate tables for each. The information is captured for up to two applicants.

Calculations have been setup for Total Income, Total Expenditure and Disposable Income. You should begin by adding a field to your Journey, select the calculation field type.

When creating or updating the calculation you will then be able to choose from the list of usable fields. Click on a field name to insert it into the calculation. 

The following operators can be included in calculations:

• Add +
• Subtract -
• Multiply *
• Divide /
• Parenthesis ( )

Either type in the corresponding symbol or use the buttons on the right side of the usable fields section.

Below, the calculation includes the values from the income table.

The same is then done for the expenditure.

Finally, we combine the calculation results to get the disposable income.
